I enjoy throwing myself into all sorts of activities. These are some of my favourites.

Chinese Orchestra
I have played the chinese flute since I was 9 and it has been a part of my life ever since. I went on to perform in orchestras for almost 8 years, and even though I no longer play in an orchestra, I still find it relaxing to pick up my flute and play it from time to time.
REACH with CDAC
I was the president and co-founder of REACH, a service-learning committee that strived to encourage students in REP to engage with society. I especially enjoyed working with CDAC@Jurong, and I was glad that I was given the opportunity to spend time with the children there.
DOTA2
I was introduced to the original version of this game when I was 13, and I have been mesmerised by its endless complexities ever since. DOTA2 has since become the symbol of e-sports, but more importantly for me, it was the spark that ignited my interest in programming.
Chinese Chess
Influenced by my father and my grandfather, I picked up Chinese chess from young. However, it was not until I was 17 that I started treating the game more seriously by joining the school chess club. Even though I am still very much a novice at chess, I enjoy the focus that I get in the heat of the game.

About Me

Profile

Hi, I’m Xin Meng. I enjoy designing and making stuff.

I am currently working in Dyson as a Test Engineer (formerly a Graduate Engineer), where I get to design and build tests systems for an assortment of products. I was previously enrolled in the Renaissance Engineering Program at Nanyang Technological University, and completed a one-year design course from the Segal Design Institute at Northwestern University, Illinois.

As a mechanical engineer, I found my passion in mechatronics and I embrace the technical challenges involved. It never ceases to amaze me when ideas in my head are brought to life with circuits and code.

In my free time, I play video games, chinese flute, chinese chess, badminton and table tennis.
